Hello
My name is Dee Dee Burington. I am a yoga instructor from the DFW area. I have taught fitness for 25 years, and yoga for over 14 years. I am an ERYT 500 and YACEP. I love teaching all types of yoga formats because I delight in witnessing the miraculous benefits that it brings to my students.
My Story
I teach fitness and yoga in the Garland and Rowlett TX location. I just really love people and have yet to meet a stranger. I am consistent and have been known to work at a location for more than 12 years. I am so thankful for all the connections and friends that I have made in the past, because they all brought me to where I am now.

I started off teaching group fitness back in 1998 and taught that for many years. I taught step, strength, Hi-Lo, and Body Pump. I love all these formats and still teach them today in fusion style formats. I remember taking a Yoga training that fell in my lap last minute and then I was kind of thrown into my first class last minute. Although I was nervous, my dance background made me feel at ease and my class was receptive to my teaching style. I immediately fell in love with Yoga. There is this indescribable energy between my students and I. It is magical.

In 2012, I decided to take a more traditional training and Received my 200 RYT. At the same time that I was in training, I received a breast cancer diagnosis. I had to juggle all sorts of emotions and divide time between homework and setting dates for a biopsy, surgery and being a wife and mom to my boys. It was an all time low for me. Yoga helped in a numerous amount of ways. I learned to breathe through the fear of the unknown, and embrace the undying love of my family and yoga family. I learned gratitude for all of those around me that encircled me with support. I learned to be more present and to give thanks for each moment and the small gifts that each day brings. My scope changed from that point on, and I wanted to help others through my teaching. The following year I signed up to become certified to teach Yoga for Cancer. This helped me to stop worrying about recurrence and step outside of myself and help others through my firsthand experience.

I started teaching Yoga for cancer classes many years ago, and still do to this day with http://yogabridge.org Check this non profit out if you or anyone you know has been touched by cancer. It is free if you are in treatment. During COVID, I stepped it up an received my 500 HR Training.
I pride myself in putting students first always. I am known for keeping a single point focus in class that help my students understand the "why and how" of yoga asana. This in turn sheds light on how these yoga postures can help bring light, harmony and functionality to everyday life.

I offer a variety of classes including Yoga Flow, Vinyasa Flow, Yoga Sculpt, Pilates, Yoga-lates, Yin, Restorative, Hatha, Power Vinyasa, 26.2, and Yoga Nidra. I offer on line classes so that we can connect. I also have a video library so that you can choose when you want to practice. I offer one:one sessions in person or through video conference. I also teach in person in Garland and Rowlett. Please email me or call if you would like to try any of my classes. I look forward to meeting you on your mat soon. In Love and Light.
